EDITORIAL STANDARDS
Evidence before opinion.
Useful buying guidance starts with documents you can check.
Check the local version
Use New Zealand-specific official material for versions, prices, warranty terms and local rules. Date source checks and explain the scope. A source-check date is not a publication date.
Keep facts and judgment separate
Link factual claims to sources. Label desk research and editorial judgment. Never imply a test drive that did not happen, or infer reliability or resale performance from anecdotes.
Show the limits
Explain missing evidence and conflicting information. Do not turn marketing claims into independent findings. Buyers should confirm the documents and terms for their exact vehicle.
Images and illustrations
Credit licensed photographs and disclose relevant modifications and overseas-model limitations. Label AI illustrations; these are visual aids, not evidence of a dealer visit, workshop inspection or safety test.
Commercial independence
Sponsored content must be clearly identified. Advertisers cannot buy editorial judgments. Commercial arrangements do not turn specifications or promotional claims into independent findings.
Approval and corrections
Articles, image rights and relevant commercial disclosures are reviewed before release. Material changes should carry an update note. Send factual corrections to nzdrivereviews@gmail.com with the article title, disputed detail and any supporting source.
